Auditions for “Bleacher Bums” at Burien Little Theatre
Burien Little Theatre announces auditions for the comedy “Bleacher Bums,” conceived by Joe Mantegna and written by Chicago’s Organic Theatre Company. Synopsis: Bleacher Bums is a comedy about the bond that forms between a group of diehard Cubs fans whose devotion to their hometown team is rarely tainted by the fact that they almost never win.
Performances are at Burien Little Theatre in Burien from April 16 through May 9, 2010.
Auditions are Tuesday, Feb 2 and Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Callbacks are Wednesday, Feb 10 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Directed by Zachariah Robinson.
$100 stipend provided.

Character breakdown
Come be part of the action when the Cubs host the hated St. Louis Cardinals. Gathered in the bleachers is an assortment of fans:
Melody: Sexy sunbathing fan more interested in a tan than the game.
Greg: A gentle Cub fan in his 20s who has been blind from birth.
Zig: A large man in his mid 50s. The archetypal Cub fan, willing to bet on virtually every at bat, filled with the overwhelming belief that this is finally the Cubs' day to win.
Decker: 40s. A successful, energetic businessman. He is the take-charge guy.
Richie: 30s. The nerdy fan whose personal habits and hygiene are disgusting.
Marvin: 30s or 40s. A sleazy, cynical gambler looking to make a buck.
Cheerleader: Hyperactive young Cubs fanatic.
Rose: 45 to 55. Zig's wife of 30 years and a closet Cub fan.
The Kid: A little kid. This role doubles as a concessions striper.
The Guard: A big guard. This role doubles as a concessions striper.

Auditions for readings of "Dinner with Friends" at Burien Little Theatre
Burien Little Theatre invites actors to audition for readings of “Dinner with Friends,” a bittersweet comedy about marriage, fidelity, infidelity and friendship written by Donald Margulies. Male and female actors are sought who can play characters in their early 40s. You don’t have to be these ages to read the roles. The time commitment is minimal as three to four rehearsals are planned, and there will three public readings.
The readings will be at Burien Little Theatre: Saturdays February 20 and March 6 and 20 at 2 p.m., which are the second, fourth and sixth Saturdays of Burien Little Theatre's winter production of Arne Zaslove's 1950s rock & roll musical version of the comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
Auditions will consist of cold reading from the script Monday, January 18, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Burien Little Theatre announces auditions for the 1950s rock & roll musical version of Shakespeare’s comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” adapted by Arne Zaslove and updated in 2008.
BLT is seeking actors to play roles ages 16 to 60—you don’t have to be those ages, just portray them.
Auditions are Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27, 2009, from 7 to 10 p.m. Callbacks are Wednesday, October 28 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Please prepare a comic monologue, preferably from Shakespeare’s work, and two short contrasting songs (serious/comedy, ballad/patter). Bring resume and headshot. Callbacks will consist of cold readings from the script and work with music from the show.

Synopsis: A be-bopping version of Shakespeare’s comedy of mistaken identities and love, featuring classic ‘50s rock and roll tunes. Set at Athens High on graduation day 1957, the characters, in poodle skirts and leather jackets, sing and dance the night away.
Rehearsals begin in earnest Sunday, January 3, 2010, with a couple of rehearsals possible in early December.

Work with a geat cast on the best Christmas show in the puget sound region! BLT is seeking two adult actor to play the roles of Joan Crawford's son Christopher, and dughter Christina. Many of the roles in this production are cross-dressing roles, and BLT is open to either gender for Christopher and Christina.

A surprise hit since 1992.
Performances are at Burien Little Theatre in Burien from November 27 to December 20, 2009.

Auditions for readings of "The Undescended."

Burien Little Theatre invites actors to audition for a reading of a new full-length play, “The Undescended,” by Christopher Bailey. (This play is under consideration for BLT's 2010-11 season.)
Auditions will consist of cold reading from the script on Thursday, August 27 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Synopsis: Mysterious psychological drama with darkly comic moments.
Character List:
Jim Atwater: Psychiatric resident in his mid to late 30s
Tom Maser: Jim’s colleague, a psychiatrist in his mid to late 40s
Diane Atwater: Jim’s wife, an attorney in her mid to late 30s; the couple has no children, which has created an issue
Lana Devlin: Jim’s psychiatric patient, in her mid to late 20s
The time commitment is minimal as two to three rehearsals are planned.
There will be three public readings at Burien Little Theatre in Burien on October 3, 24 and 31, 2009, that is the first and the last two Saturdays of the run of "Psycho Beach Party."
